Welcome to ACEC's Learning Center. Here you'll find our web-assisted Personal Finance and Financial Planning Lesson Plan. This versatile teaching and learning tool is designed so that educators, students or anyone else seeking to improve their money management skills can easily do so. It is detailed enough so that educators can use it to create or supplement existing financial literacy curricula. However, if you are not in school but have access to the Internet, you can easily use these materials to learn how to become a more savvy consumer on your own.
The lesson plan is available in two formats. The first is a PDF format that requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, a software package that is available at no charge. The PDF file is bookmarked, so that you can easily navigate through the lesson plan. It also contains hyperlinks to other websites, which are helpful in explaining the material and provide insights into the issues raised in each lesson. The second document is a Word Document. It is designed primarily for teachers who wish to edit the lesson plan, tailoring it to their own class needs. It does contain web addresses, but not hyperlinks.
Think of this lesson plan as a workout program, a regimen designed to help everyone who embraces it become financially fit. Today's financial marketplace is more complex than ever.
